The Splendid Sampler

In this class we will learn patchwork , appliqué, foundation piecing, English paper piecing and hand embroidery. Each month we will sew 10 – 6.5” blocks leaning and expanding on techniques learned the previous month. This sampler quilt is a great way to expand on your quilting skills.

Mini Professional Tote

The mini professional tote has 10 pockets including a zipper pocket to hold your tablet. On the outside there are two patch pockets, a zipper pocket and two pleated pockets to hold a bottle of water or sunglasses. Inside the tote there is another zipper pocket, a gathered pocket and two patch pockets. This tote is perfect for a busy, active woman for everyday use or travel.

Join us to make this funky bag to take on vacation with you or just to add to your bag collection. This bag has inner and outer pockets and a flap with a magnet closure with an adjustable shoulder strap. I have even made a small change purse and glass holder to match my bag which can be a nice addition for a holiday get away! A pattern is available for these items if you wish to do them also.

Fractured Star

Join Quiltworx Certified Instructor Julie Faulkner in making the Fractured Star a brand new pattern from Quiltworx which was designed as a beginner pattern to introduce quilters to foundation paper piecing. The project is fast, uses only one foundation block for the diamonds, employs simple cutting techniques, and is a fun way to jump into your first paper piecing project. It is meant to help those new to the process find confidence, understanding, and success. 80” x 80”

New! Beginner Embroidery Club

We have put together 9 sessions of classes that are designed to get any beginner familiar with the basics of using your embroidery machine. This is a fun class for those just starting to embroider. In this class you will learn basic skills and techniques while using designs that emphasize a variety of things that are essential as you move onto more complex projects. All machines welcome.

Cross Body Bag and Notable Gift Set

In this class we will complete 2 projects – both from Kimberbell. The first is from the Body Bag set. This cute bag, all made in the hoop – even adding the zipper- is super easy and just the perfect size for the second project we will make – a small note book cover from the Notables set. We will make a matching set – perfect for gift giving. In class we will also learn how to add a monogram to the body bag to make it personal! Made quick and easy and can make great Christmas gifts.

Heirloom Serger Dress

Are you wondering what to sew now that you can thread your serger? Maybe this is what you are looking for. I made a christening gown, but, it could be shortened to make it a pretty dress for a baby or a quick dress for a doll. This is a technique that is part of heirloom and French sewing, that may help you get more out of you serger than just finishing of seam allowances.

Beginner Alternating 4 Patch

In this project I will take you through quilt making and share my tricks for accuracy and easy quilting. If you haven’t quilted before this is a great project to see what quilting is all about. You will learn rotary cutting, strip piecing, pressing, machine quilting and binding techniques. It’s also a great class for quilters who would like to improve their skills.

Oh, the Possibilities for Halloween!

Decorate your home for the season, while learning new techniques along the way. Using your embroidery machine we will applique the house, while learning how to re-hoop for placement. The projected is then finished off with a regular sewing machine for the border. The finished size is 12.5” x 22.5”

Day Retreats/ UFO Days

We will provide a friendly work area, refreshments and even pop in now and then to make sure you are working hard. All you have to do is bring a potluck item/ Bag Lunch and a project(s) you would like to work on.

The Strip Club

No we haven’t gone completely crazy! But you know the saying “girls just gotta have fun!” What we are going to do is provide you with yet another way to create exciting quilts using either precut strips or strips you can cut from your stash. We will have some great ideas on how you can work with these strips in a variety of projects. This club takes place once a month. There will be lots of fun along with goodies, coffee and tea! Aren’t you just a bit curious?
