Kimberbell Valentine Tea

Our Kimberbell event is a great way to have fun and get to know machine embroidery. This event is suitable for the beginner all the way to the most advanced embroiderer, you can even test one of our embroidery machines if you don’t have one. In this event you will learn: single-hoop embroidery on a ready-made article, multi hooping, piecing in the hoop, how to install a zipper, embroider a quilted design and so much more. During the 2 days you will make and finish 6 embroidery projects all in the hoop. Included with your Kimberbell event, you’ll receive an exclusive sewing bag completely filled with Kimberbell fabric, paper tape, ribbon, buttons, and more to make six amazing event projects. We’ll even cut the stabilizer for you! You just need to come with your machine and a few basic supplies and be ready to have fun. We will even provide lunch.

The Mini Stars Table Runner

The Mini Stars Table Runner was designed many years ago as an introductory teaching pattern and is a great way to introduce students to Paper Piecing and Quiltworx patterns. In 2017, this pattern was updated, giving it a fresh new look with new foundation papers, instructions, and a new coversheet taking advantage of changes in design standards such as the incorporation of smart corners, hatching of the blocks, Template Layout Sheets. This pattern will be taught by Certified Instructor Julie Faulkner

Double Heart Table Runner

This is a Patchwork runner with all the blocks made in the 5×7, 6×10 or 8×10 hoop. This is a machine embroidery design. There are 3 different blocks in this table runner, including the border block, and they are then joined with the sewing machine. You could make anything you like for example a bag, placemat, quilt or sewing machine cover etc.

A Charming Bag

Have you ever wanted a bag that you can pack your quilts in or to carry all your supplies for a class? If so, join us to make this versatile bag back by popular demand. It is created using charm squares or 5” X 5” squares from your stash and with Soft & Stable as batting that enables the bag to stand nicely. Suitable for a confident beginner with basic quilting skills.

Ribbonworks

A stunning quilt. This pattern uses an easy technique to make a quilt top that looks like interwoven ribbons. Using just five colours for foreground and background, it really does look three dimensional. Blocks on point give a dynamic diagonal line to the design. Finished size: 50” x 63”

The Scandinavian Snowflake

This pattern includes enough paper to make (4) Table Toppers 20” in diameter. The pattern teaches basic paper piecing techniques and introduces quilters to the Quiltworx applique technique using laser-cut Stitch-N-Peel applique stabilizers for turn-under applique. Basic sewing skills assumed. This pattern will be taught by Certified Instructor Julie Faulkner

Serger Class Level 1

Do you have a serger, but don’t understand threading and tensions? This course will teach you how to thread your machine, balance your tensions, lock that stitch at the end of your seam and sew: inside corners, outside corners, inside curves and outside curves. The class manual is $25.00 but, if you sign up for at least three classes at once, the manual is half price.

In level 2 we move onto 3-thread serging. You will learn about 3-thread wide, 3-thread narrow, 3-thread decorative, rolled hem, lettuce edge, pin tucks and spaghetti straps.

This spectacular two-color quilt can be embroidered in 5” – 9” block sizes. Come and see the blocks, this Hoopsisters quilt is fast, beautiful and really soft. This quilt only requires two fabrics and two threads. Learn to work with HoopSisters’ famous battilizer, a stabilizer/batting base, to easily create a quilt like no other, all with an embroidery machine. Each month learn different embroidery techniques to master these embroidery quilt blocks. At the end, learn HoopSisters awesome finishing technique for a fully-quilted on the embroidery machine look. This quilt is shown with the optional border.

New! Sisterhood Retreats Embroidery Club:

This club is an amazing value. Each month we will have a different theme and we are starting with Beans to Brew, Let’s Make up and Wedding Bliss. Each month you will receive multiple projects to sew but we will make 1 in class. During club we will learn multiple embroidery techniques while making fun useful projects. This club has been designed to work on all current brands and models of embroidery machines. Each month at least 1 project can be done in a 4 x 4 hoop but some projects need an 8” x 11” hoop. This club is a great way for the beginner or the experienced embroiderer to become more familiar with their embroidery machine.
