Pillow Case Day – 24 Hour Sew-a-thon:

We have joined the sew-a-thon to see how many pillowcases we can make in 24 Hours. The challenge is to collect a million pillowcases in 24 hours for Children’s Hospitals around North America. Let’s see how many we can contribute. All pillowcases must be in by 5:00pm on Sat Sep 19 to qualify. Mark your calendars. Bring in all your fun fabrics and we will teach you how to make a pillowcase. We suggest that you use children’s prints or funky brights for the ones you will be donating. A supply list will be available.

NEW! The Strip Club:
.
No we haven’t gone completely crazy! But you know the saying “girls just gotta have fun”! What we are going to do is provide you with yet another way to create exciting quilts using either precut strips or strips you can cut from your stash. We will have some great ideas on how you can work with these strips in a variety of projects. This club takes place once a month. Pattern included in class fee. There will be lots of fun along with goodies, coffee and tea! Aren’t you just a bit curious? Sign up for three months at a time but can join anytime.

AKA – “Row By Row” Technique Quilt: Maureen designed this quilt using the Pacific Northwest as her inspiration. Each class offers a new row and a new technique. Drop by the shop to see the sample. This project is being offered as a monthly class for anyone wanting to sit down and stitch the row with instruction, but will also be available for sale as a pattern/kit. Kits and supply lists available.

These evenings continue to be very popular! Come in for an evening of “Fun and Finishing”. Bring in those UFOs and the staff will guide you in finishing them. It’s always a lot more fun to work with other quilters. We’ll have coffee, tea, and hot chocolate on hand and order in supper. Come to one or come to them all. Bring along any project that you want to work on. Call us now to reserve your spot as these sessions fill very quickly. If you would like to use one of our classroom sewing machines please let us know as soon as possible.

A Charming Bag : 18″ W X 9″ D X 13″ H:

This versatile bag is made with 5″ pre cut charm squares or squares that you have cut from your own stash fabrics. It can be made in various sizes but the large size will be taught in class and created over two sessions. Soft & Stable is used for the batting so the bag stands up quite nicely when completed.

Use Your Scraps with – NO FEAR!:

Debbie is a published scrappy quilter and wants to share her knowledge (no fear of scraps) with you so you too can create those scrappy quilts that look great. You will learn how to organize your scraps and create a quilt from just one block the split 9 patch. Her technique will also include using a new ruler! So gather those scraps (from your stash or your friend’s) 3 inches or larger and join in on this new adventure.
