Upcoming Classes

Welcome Autumn – An EMB Multi-Hooping Project

In this class we are going to learn how to complete a project that is too large to do in one hooping– thus you need to measure and place multiple markings on the project for multiple hoopings. The project we will be doing is Kimberbell’s bench pillow “Welcome Autumn”. This pillow gives us plenty of opportunity to practice multi-hooping and we will also get to work with some other mediums. By the end of the class you can then take your new skill and apply it to other multi-hooping projects.

Hoppy Easter Bench Pillow

Peek-a-boo bunnies and downy chicks join the parade of pretty pastels for Kimberbell’s newest release in there popular Bench Pillow Series. The “Hoppy” Easter Bench Pillow features pieced and appliqued blocks with darling dimensional elements. We love the glitter eggs and fringed fluff for wings on the just-hatched chicks. Floppy bunny ears are stitched separately, then attached to each adorable face under the applique. Sprouting copper carrots are made from glitter applique too, with loops of green ribbon forming the carrot tops. This is a real fun project.

Have Your Cake and Quilt It Too!

Here’s one of my latest favourite patterns. You use about half a layer cake, a stopper between your “slices” and a border, and it goes together lickety split. If you have “cake leftovers” it’s a great way to use them up…or you can just use fabrics from your “stash” that go together. Just cut them up into ten inch squares.
