Quilts for Wildfire Victims – Tom's Sewing Newsletter

We are currently collecting quilts for people affected by the wildfires in BC. Some of those displaced by the Lytton fire are currently visiting the Chilliwack Friendship Centre. Heather McArthur, an avid quilter from Port Coquitlam would like to do a delivery to those people at the end of July. She will be picking up quilts at Tom’s Sewing Centre on Wed July 28. If you have a quilt please drop it off as soon as possible as we do not have enough for this delivery yet.

We want to say thank you to the people who have already donated. We have 5 amazing quilts here for Heather to deliver.

Dear fellow quilters,

As you will undoubtedly have heard by now, the entire village of Lytton, BC was consumed by a raging wildfire just a few days ago. My heart breaks at this sad news, knowing that over 400 people have lost their homes, their livelihoods, their beloved pets, and even their lives.

Together with Heather Fagervik of Heather’s Fabric Shelf in Kamloops, I am organizing quilts to be donated to the victims of the Lytton (and other Interior BC) fires, and hope you can help us.

If you would like to donate one or more new or nearly new (but in excellent condition) quilts, you may drop them off at the following locations before July 28, 2021:
