Intro to Walking Foot Quilting with Melissa Marginet, Janome Artisan and author of Walking Foot Quilting Designs & Edge-to-Edge Walking Foot Quilting Designs.

Melissa will guide you through quilting a small quilt with your walking foot. You will learn the basic skills of walking foot quilting and plenty of tips and tricks to help you along the way to quilting all your own quilts on your home sewing machine.

Directions to make the small quilt are included with the class supply list.

New! Kimberbell Social Embroidery Club,
And Now Kimberbell Blanks Club

Do you love to embroider? Do you love to share your work? Do you love to learn new techniques? We will be holding an online embroidery club and demo a new technique each month. Patterns will be loaded onto USB sticks and available to pick up after the club. We will not be sewing during this club, but we will be demoing and sharing ideas. The club projects will be based off Kimberbell designs that are clever, whimsical and a fun way to learn different embroidery techniques. Even if you have never done machine embroidery before, you will enjoy this club. Kimberbell designs are so cute and have amazing instructions; this club will not disappoint you. All Good Things – Hoopsisters Block of the Month

Hoopsisters has changed things up this year with their block of the month. Titled “All Good Things” – each block has a theme such as Vineyard, Love Notes and Farm Fresh to name a few. Each block can be finished on its own to create a cute wall hanging that can be changed out throughout the year or given as gifts or you can sew them all together to get the “All Good Things” quilt. Each month we will cover some tips and tricks to complete the block and spend some time sewing it together.

Hoopsisters “All Good Things”

Small projects for around the house. In addition to the quilt blocks, Hoopsisters has created some really cute ITH projects for around the house. Learn to Use your Sewing Machine

Did you get a new sewing machine? Has it been a long time since you sewed? This class is for you. We will start from the beginning on setting up your machine to sewing with ease. Do you want to know what all those feet in the box do? This class is free to anyone who purchased their machine from Tom’s Sewing, Countryfolk Fabric or Burnaby Sewing.

NEW DATES – Beginner Quilting

Are you just starting to quilt or need to brush up on your skills? This 5 week class will take you through rotary cutting, piecing blocks, joining blocks, adding borders, sandwiching and basting, basics of machine quilting and binding and labeling. This fun quilt looks much more complicated than it is and will teach you everything you need to know to move on to more advanced projects.

Floating Gems

Celebration Star

I just wanted a fresh Table Topper and couldn’t resist playing with this pattern. It’s using one the first paper pieced pattern I learned. Paper piecing is a fantastic technique to achieve those “sharp points “. You can stop at just the centre or do as I did add a few more blocks. A Fun Little Quilt.

Ruler Quilting – Essence of Tradition

This is the Ultimate Quilting with Templates Class. Get inspired to finish all your quilt tops at home with the “Essence of Tradition Design Club.” You can sign up to pick up your package each month or add the class for additional help. In class we will ruler quilt 1 block of a quilt each month. If you choose to do the whole year you will have a full quilt at the end of the class. The full year class includes: 13 Traditional Block Patterns, 50+ Quilting Designs (4 per block),13 Westalee Design Templates (available in Low shank, High shank or Long Arm Thicknesses), 13 Instructional Videos, Notebook with Design Tools & Patterns. This package is valued at $850. Sign ups are a must.

Cake Therapy and Beyond

We are changing Cake Therapy up a bit again and all classes will be held on Zoom with Countryfolk’s amazing Lynne Thiessen. If you haven’t already attended Cake Therapy, then it’s time you did and find out what you are missing. If you are a beginner quilter or advanced quilter you will have fun learning and sharing different techniques. There are NO FEES for these sessions, but great deals if you want to take things home. Usually we have cake so you will all have to all sit with your piece of cake while you watch. Join our show and tell by sending pictures of what you made to nannylynne.lt@gmail.com.
