Broken Daisy Placemat

Broken Daisy Placemats: New design from Brad and Judy Niemeyer of Quiltworx. This one day class will be taught by Certified Instructor Julie Faulkner and will use a sewing technique called foundation paper piecing to assemble the units required to make these quilted placemats. Curved piecing is used to join the units after the foundation piecing is completed. The pattern has enough papers for 4 placemats. Beginner quilters welcome but must have basic sewing skills.

Double Trouble

Jenny’s Starburst

Jenny’s Starburst: A new quilt with a classic look. This one can be made with only two fabrics or planned scrappy with lights and darks. The sample is in two colour families; well, one family and whites. Precut your squares and it will go together very quickly. This would make a great project for a beginner with basic skills or fun and easy for a more advanced quilter.

New Date: Serger Level 1
Serger Class Level 1: Do you have a serger, but don’t understand threading and tensions? This course will teach you how to thread your machine, balance your tensions, lock that stitch at the end of your seam and sew: inside corners, outside corners, inside curves and outside curves. The class manual is $25.00 but, if you sign up for at least three classes at once, the manual is half price.

New Date: Serger Level 2
Serger Class Level 2: In level 2 we move onto 3-thread serging. You will learn about 3-thread wide, 3-thread narrow, 3-thread decorative, rolled hem, lettuce edge, pin tucks and spaghetti straps.

Serger Class Level 3: In level 3 we deal with 2-thread serging, narrow and wide flat locking, deco flat locking and the ladder stitch.

Serger Class Level 4: In this new Level 4 we deal with setting up your serger for 5 thread stitching along with using a combination of a chain and overcast stitch. Various ways to use the chain stitch by itself or for practical and decorative purposes will also be covered.

Our Kimberbell event is a great way to have fun and get to know machine embroidery. This event is suitable for the beginner all the way to the most advanced embroiderer, you can even test one of our embroidery machines if you don’t have one. In this event you will learn: single-hoop embroidery on a ready-made article, multi hooping, piecing in the hoop, how to install a zipper, how to use product such as mylar and puffy foam and embroider a quilted design. During the 2 days you will make 6 embroidery projects all in the hoop.
